About this service
Essentials to take home
The Staple Food Packs service provides weekly take-home grocery packs for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Each pack contains a practical mix of fresh produce, pantry staples and hygiene essentials.
Packs are distributed every Friday. This service began on 17 April 2026.
What's included
- Fresh fruit and vegetables
- Canned goods
- Long life milk
- Cereal
- Hygiene items — women's health, child/baby, dental (subject to availability)

Important Information
Rules and eligibility
Pack rules
- One pack per household
- Packs are limited — once given out, none are available until next week
Eligibility
The same eligibility applies as the Oakdene Kitchen:
- Current Centrelink Income Statement
- Photo ID (passport or drivers licence)
- Income under $1,200 per fortnight
- Statement must be updated monthly
