Clean clothes, no cost

The Oakdene Laundrette provides free laundry facilities for people experiencing hardship. Whether it's a temporary situation or ongoing difficulty, everyone deserves clean clothes.

What's included each visit

  • One load of washing
  • One load of drying
  • Laundry detergent provided

  • Support from staff or volunteers

Your Visit

How it works

  1. Check in with staff or security on arrival

  2. Receive a washing tablet and number tag matching your machine

  3. Load your clothes, place the tablet in the drum and press Start

  4. When the wash finishes, move items to the dryer

  5. Stay nearby while cycles run — visit Oakdene Kitchen while you wait

  6. Return your number tag when finished

Eligibility

The same eligibility applies as the Oakdene Kitchen. Bring a current Centrelink Income Statement and photo ID. Your statement must show income under $1,200 per fortnight.

For Organisations

Group laundry bookings

We offer group laundry bookings outside public hours, available Tuesday to Thursday, for non-profits supporting homelessness, shelters, and group homes.

Must be booked by a support worker who attends in person
